Summer has officially come to an end…
Over the past few weeks, we’ve had the pleasure of enjoying the last bits of summer as the weather began to finally cool down. We’re trying to get every adventure we can in before the winter comes. That means lots of trips to the park, exploring the city and other excursions.
The picture above is mija in her NEW big girl car seat from Britax, the Frontier 90. I have to admit, I was so sad to switch her out of her little seat and I really miss that zebra pattern. Mija wanted red this time (her favorite color). She had a serious growth spurt this summer and was barely fitting into her Advocate.
It was so much fun to see her face light up when she got her big girl seat. :) Much like when we decided to turn her front facing a couple of months before her fourth birthday (she was so petite…lol). I can’t believe how big she has gotten or that I have a five year old.
Watching her turn five has made me even more worried about how fast she is growing. She’s barely a baby anymore.
One thing I will say, this is the most secure I’ve ever felt with a car seat. Most car seats, even though they are fairly easy to install, do not have the same secure fit as the Frontier, which has Britax’s new ClickTight Installation. I really recommend that parents who are upgrading to a booster style seat check this one out.

Above, a photo of mija and I last week when we went out to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball 2 in 3D. Very cute movie. ;)
Above, mi’jita in her new B·O·B Revolution Stroller. Daddy picked this one. ;)
Plenty of foot room. :)
The brakes on the B·O·B stroller are part of what makes it so unique. There is a hand brake and also a manual foot brake. I like this because you can never be careful. This particular stroller is also made for jogging and fitness, so having a hand brake is essential.
Doesn’t that ring look beautiful on hubby’s finger? We also ended up celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary this year. Six years married, 11 years together. :)
Above, mija in front of her “princess castle”. We live very close to a beautiful children’s hospital that was built to look like a real castle. Mija loves taking walks to visit her castle and wave to the princess. There was a time when we went to visit the castle for an appointment and a little girl stood up in the window and waved at us. Every since, mija has been adamant that this girl was, in fact, a real princess. We love that story so much, we’ve never said anything different.
I love things like that. Just the fact that somebody saw how important it was for kids to feel safe and special while in the hospital. That is so powerful. ♥
What is your fondest memory with your kids from this summer? I would love to hear about your outings and how you keep your little ones safe and happy as you travel and explore your city.
