My first day on diabetic meds (during pregnancy)

27 weeks and counting

Welp, today is my first day ever of taking meds for my diabetes. I’m nervous as hell about it.

So, when I had gestational diabetes for my first child, I only had to walk 15 minutes after meals to ensure good blood glucose levels. This time around, the same worked…until about four weeks ago.

Once I got past a certain point in my pregnancy, my levels just started rising and there was nothing that I could physically do (diet/exercise) to keep them down. The doctor’s say that’s pretty normal and usually happens right before the third trimester, when your hormones begin to change.

This time around I’m “pre-diabetic” and I think that has presented some extra challenges in maintaining my levels on my own while pregnant.

Anyway, wish me luck! I’m super nervous!
