Spring DIY Projects with The Home Depot #DigIn

Throughout Spring our family has been working on some small and big projects, including greening out lawn (still in progress), working on Spring crafts with Lily and tackling some bigger projects that can help us recycle more and waste less.

As part of The Home Depot’s new Garden Club, we were able to search tons of pre-planned DIY projects and find the ones that fit for us.  You can see all of their project ideas here.

We ended up picking a fun DIY kids project for Lily – a birdhouse kit!  Perfect for Spring.  See what other eco-friendly projects you can do with the kiddos.  View more eco-friendly projects.

We’ll also be adding a professional compost bin to our backyard that will allow us to eliminate food waste (we already recycle non-food products a ton).  Build your own diycompost bin.

We’ve never composted before, but it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while, so I’m excited to see how it turns out!

We stopped in to do some shopping recently and picked up most of our supplies.  Lily also got to work on her little bird house, which I’ll share in another post this week.  It was such a fun project, but the best part is going to be putting it out in the yard for the birds to visit.  I’m sure she’ll love that!  We’re going to put it right in front of the picture window so that we can watch it from the inside too.  ;)

We’ll keep you posted on our progress.  I especially can’t wait to see how the compost bin turns out, since I’ve always wanted to try!
