These are dark days...but this issue is not new. W

These are dark days...but this issue is not new. While it might seem like these events come in waves, the reality is that they are happening daily. And in nearly all cases, there are few consequences or jail time for the officers that openly murder those who they claim to protect and serve. Police forces have a long history of involvement in the control and lynching of Black communities. This history is still reflected in the training of their officers and overall policing culture. Cities and police departments continue to intentionally target Black communities, they continue to look the other way when cops needlessly take lives, and they continue to protect their own at any cost. This problem isn't going to stop unless we change the system that was setup to maintain the status quo. It's our job to set them straight... especially those of us not directly affected by these tragedies. Let's do the work. Call the mayor and DA and let them know you want these officers charged immediately. #BlackLivesMatter
